Twilio integration

Twilio is part of the Agent Toolbox - the set of hands-free tools the on-glasses AI assistant can use during a session. Once you connect your own Twilio account, an engineer can send a text message out loud, without touching a phone: "text the customer to say I'm 20 minutes away", "send the landlord the gas safety record". The assistant composes the message, reads it back, and sends it from your Twilio number.

Because it uses your Twilio account, you keep full control: your sender number and brand, your delivery and compliance settings, and your own per-message cost. TrainAR never sends on your behalf or marks up the cost.

What you can do with TrainAR + Twilio

Once connected, the on-glasses assistant gains a Send SMS tool. Typical hands-free uses:

• Text a customer an arrival time or running-late note.
• Send a job-complete confirmation to the office.
• Message a supervisor when a session flags a safety issue.
• Send a quick follow-up to the account after the visit.

The assistant always confirms the recipient and the message before sending.

Note: Send SMS only appears in the assistant's toolset once Twilio is connected. Until then the tool stays hidden, so engineers are never offered an action that can't complete.

Setup

You'll need:

• Admin access to TrainAR.
• A Twilio account with a voice/SMS-capable phone number.

1. Find your Twilio credentials

In the Twilio Console: copy your Account SID and Auth Token from the dashboard home, and note the Twilio phone number you want to send from (in +E.164 format, e.g. +447700900123).

2. Connect Twilio in TrainAR

1. TrainAR Dashboard → Integrations → Twilio → Connect.
2. Paste your Account SID, Auth Token, and From number.
3. Click Connect. Your credentials are encrypted and stored in a secure vault - they are never written to our database in plain text and are never shown again.
4. The card shows Connected, and the Send SMS tool is now available to the on-glasses assistant.

3. Verify it's working

Start a session on the glasses and ask the assistant to send a test text to your own mobile. You should receive it within seconds, from your Twilio number.

Managing the connection

Open TrainAR Dashboard → Integrations → Twilio to update your credentials or disconnect. Disconnecting immediately removes the Send SMS tool from the assistant.

What it costs

The Twilio integration is included in every TrainAR subscription. Message charges are billed by Twilio directly to your own account at your Twilio rate - TrainAR adds nothing on top.
