Quick-start checklist
If you've just signed up and want the fastest path to your first useful AR training session - here's the 30-minute version.
If you've just signed up and want the fastest path to your first useful AI-guided training session, here's the 30-minute version.
Your account comes ready to go from the moment you sign up:
- A seat is already created and assigned to you, with both trainer and trainee roles.
- The Agent Toolbox bundle is already switched on.
- UK accounts get The Complete UK knowledge base automatically.
- You have 200 free minutes of session time to use.
The dashboard shows a Getting Started checklist on Home that tracks these same steps live, and a short guided tour on each page. You can dismiss or replay the tours any time from Settings.
The hit-list
1. Download the TrainAR app (2 min)
Get TrainAR from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Trainee sessions run on the phone, with or without AR glasses, so you don't need any hardware to start.
2. Pair your phone (1 min)
Open Dashboard → Devices and start pairing on your seat. Scan the QR code with the app, or open the pairing link on the phone. There is no login inside the app - pairing is what binds the phone to your seat. A seat can hold up to 3 paired devices. See Install and pair.
3. Run a 5-minute test session (10 min)
In the app, tap Start a session and choose Trainee. Work through anything simple and ask the AI questions as you go - it can pull up manuals, parts diagrams, and your account's knowledge. Tap End session when done. See Running a session.
4. View the session (5 min)
Back in the Dashboard, the session appears under Dashboard → Sessions once processing finishes. Open it to see the recording, the summary, and any extracted procedures. See Viewing a session.
5. Invite an engineer (2 min)
Dashboard → Settings → Users → Invite User (admin). Role: Admin or Member. Give them a seat from Settings and they pair their own phone the same way. See Inviting your team.
6. Subscribe to a starter bundle (3 min)
Dashboard → Marketplace - subscribe to Parts & Spares so sessions have a real platform skill set (boiler ID, parts search, manual + exploded view). Bundles are billed per seat - see Subscribing to bundles.
7. Connect your FSM (varies)
If you use ServiceM8, Jobber, Commusoft, Simpro, BigChange, Payaca, Powered Now, Zapier, or n8n - wire it up in Dashboard → Integrations (top-level nav, not under Settings). Once connected, your real jobs become TrainAR tasks automatically. See Integrations overview.
What "done" looks like
After ticking all seven:
- You (and one engineer) have each run a real session
- The sessions and any auto-extracted procedures sit in your account
- One integration is feeding live tasks (if you wired it up in step 7)
That's the minimum proof TrainAR works end-to-end for your team. Everything else - more engineers, glasses for hands-free and trainer sessions, more bundles, custom skills, custom knowledge - scales out from that foundation.
