The hit-list

Tip

Tick these off in order. None take more than 5 minutes individually.

1. Confirm your tenant (1 min)

You're already in. Confirm the tenant name shown in the top-left of the Dashboard matches your company. See Your tenant.

2. Invite one engineer (2 min)

Dashboard → Settings → Users → Invite User (admin). Use a real engineer who's willing to test a pair of glasses. Role: Admin or Member — those are the only two. See Inviting your team.

3. Give them a seat + pair their glasses (5–10 min)

Dashboard → Settings → Seats → Add Seat runs a wizard: Details (assign user, pick roles trainer/trainee), Choose Device (Buy from TrainAR / BYOH / Skip), Summary. Once the device shows ready_to_pair, click Pair Device and have the engineer scan the QR with their glasses. See Pairing.

4. Subscribe to a starter bundle (3 min)

Dashboard → Marketplace — subscribe to Parts & Spares so the engineer's glasses have a real platform skill set (boiler ID, parts search, manual + exploded view) on their first session. Bundles are billed per seat — see Subscribing to bundles.

5. Run a 5-minute test session (10 min)

Engineer wears the glasses, says "Start training session", narrates what they're doing for 5 minutes, says "Stop training session". The Core App handles the rest. See Trainer mode and Trainee mode.

6. View the session (5 min)

Back in the Dashboard, the session appears under Dashboard → Sessions once the post-session pipeline finishes (5–15 minutes for a 20-minute session). Procedures are auto-extracted, auto-scored, and auto-approved — there's no manual approval step. Open the session to see the recording, the procedures, and the summary. See Viewing a session.

7. Connect your FSM (varies)

If you use ServiceM8, Commusoft, Jobber, Simpro, Zapier, or n8n — wire it up in Dashboard → Integrations (top-level nav, not under Settings). Once connected, your real jobs become TrainAR tasks automatically. See Integrations overview.

What "done" looks like

After ticking all seven:

  • One engineer has done one real session
  • The session and any auto-extracted procedures sit in your tenant
  • One integration is feeding live tasks (if you wired it up in step 7)

That's the minimum proof TrainAR works end-to-end for your team. Everything else — more engineers, more bundles, custom skills, custom knowledge — scales out from that foundation.
